The Telegraph newspaper has announced the return of its Best of British awards, a celebration of British culture around the world.
The first Best of British awards was deemed a huge success last year as more than 11,000 people voted for their favourite British expat-run establishments around the world. The types of establishments that are judged include shops, pubs, restaurants social clubs and business that are expat run. This year, due to an influx of requests, accommodation and charities have also been added.
After the votes have been cast, a group of Telegraph judges will make a final decision on the winners from each country that has nominations. Then, a thrilling face off will ensue, leading to one establishment being crowned the world’s best British outpost.
There’s also a good cause being championed by the awards, as each vote cast will see 25p donated to the Help for Heroes veteran charity.
If you have a favourite place that you want to nominate, simply head over to The Telegraph’s website where you can name your chosen establishment, leave a comment and also upload an image. Remember, this is open to expats anywhere in the world, so no matter if you’re nominating a pub in Tokyo or a sports club in Qatar, they’re all eligible as long as it’s British.
